Community volunteers help spruce up Youth Connexions Hudnall Park

03 November 2016

Green-fingered Tesco staff got stuck into tidying up the gardens at Hertfordshire County Council Youth Connexions Hudnall Park education and activity centre - thanks to a community action day.

The volunteers helped with weeding, planting seeds and bulbs and cutting back trees and hedgerows in the Berkhamsted centre’s grounds. Their hard work will mean that the children and young people who use the venue will be able to make the most of the outdoor space.

Once the team had completed the work they were treated to an archery session – just one of the many activities Hudnall Park offers.

Holly Abraham, one of the volunteers, commented “It was great to be out the office and doing something useful in our local community. It was also great to see what we’d achieved as a team by the end of the day.”

Hudnall Park is used by hundreds of children and young people each year. They enjoy day and residential visits where they get the chance to explore the 85 acre site, learn new skills and develop abilities for life such as working as a team, self-confidence and good communication.
