Could your company offer a young person a taste of the working world?
20 October 2016
Employers across Hertfordshire were encouraged to help young people get their first taste of the world of work as part of National Work Experience Week.
Hertfordshire County Council Youth Connexions finds around 7,000 work experience placements each year, including many at the council itself which offers a breadth of opportunities from libraries to social care. These placements help young people to gain a valuable insight into the work place and develop their employability skills.

While 15,000 employers are already signed up to provide placements, the county council is keen for other businesses and organisations to sign up to the scheme.
Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Education and Skills, David Williams, said: “We are keen to build on the range of positive and diverse work experiences on offer. We would love to hear from any employers keen to invest in young people and give them an insight into the work of work. It really can make a valuable difference to young people’s lives.”
