YC Hertfordshire Recognised At Families First Awards 2019
07 May 2019
YC Hertfordshire's Broxbourne, East Herts and Welwyn Hatfield teams have been recognised at the Hertfordshire Families First Awards, winning 'Services to Young People Team of the Year' for working directly with young people, providing an outstanding service to ensure the best outcomes, and making a real difference to young people’s lives.
These inaugural awards coincided with the two year anniversary of the introduction of the Families First Triage Panel, a weekly process where multiple agencies meet to quickly identify the most appropriate support for the young person / family and YC Hertfordshire has contributed by informing case discussions and leading on and supporting a wide range of referrals into the team. Young people have benefited from information advice and guidance both from Youth Workers and careers professionals covering a range of areas including substance abuse, mental health, sexual health as well as careers guidance. Young people have also been supported into a range of YC Hertfordshire project and programmes participating within groups to develop new interest, build resilience, self-worth and access new opportunities.
The awards event, attended by over 120 partners, celebrated the positive work that is being undertaken across all our partnerships in early intervention and recognised those individuals and teams that have made an exceptional effort in their work.
Mark Hughes, Area Team Manager for Broxbourne, East Herts and Welwyn Hatfield said:
“Receiving the Services to Young People Team of the Year Award is a real honour and I am delighted that YC Hertfordshire’s commitment and dedication has been recognised in this way. “We work with colleagues across Children’s Services as well as partners within our communities and this event rightfully acknowledged the joined up contribution which we all make together to improve the lives of young people.”
