It is important to choose somewhere that offers the subjects you want to study, at the right level, in a place that you feel comfortable - so you can achieve the best results possible.
Where can I study?
The majority of schools in Hertfordshire have sixth forms, some of which work together locally as a consortium to offer a wide choice of subjects, courses and a range of qualifications. Sixth Form Centres and Sixth Form Colleges also offer a range of academic qualifications.
Young people can choose how they continue in learning:
- Work based learning such as an apprenticeship
- Part time education whilst self employed or volunteering
- Distance or home education
Also in future, all students who haven't achieved GCSE A*-C (grade 4/5 or above 2017 onwards) in English and Maths will need to continue to study for these.
If you are considering higher education in the future, it is worth checking the entry requirements; check - qualifications, subjects and combinations. The Which University website has advice on choice of A Levels, BTEC and other post 16 qualifications.
