Care Leavers' Independent Living Skills Project

This YC Hertfordshire’s Care Leavers' Independent Living Skills programme is for young people in care or care leavers aged 14-17 who live in the St Albans District. Come along and use our state-of-the-art training kitchen at Harpenden Young People's Centre and learn important skills that will help you to live more independently and healthily as well as build your confidence.

Creative Spark Project for Young People with Learning Disabilities

Creative Spark is a project for young people with additional learning needs. Run by YC Hertfordshire, the project enables young people to build communication skills, resilience and independent living skills through a variety of activities.

Discovery Transgender Project

The YC Hertfordshire Discovery Project is open to all young people aged 13-17 who live in the St Albans District and who identify as transgender, non-binary, gender fluid and/or questioning their gender. If this is you, come and join us on the first Wednesday of every month, 7-9pm.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn’t matter who you are, or where you are from, you just need to be aged between 13 and 17 and ready to jump into the best time of your life! The St Albans DofE project is for young people in the St Albans district and is held fortnightly on Wednesdays at the Pioneer Young People’s Centre (see below for dates).

Emotional Wellbeing Project

Are you aged 13-17? Do you want to feel more confident in life? Come along to YC Hertfordshire's emotional wellbeing project at the Pioneer Young People’s Centre every Wednesday evening.

Friday Night Project, Harpenden

The YC Hertfordshire Friday Night Project is open to all young people aged 13-17. Harpenden Young People's Centre is a safe space for you to meet new people, develop positive relationships and try out new activities. You can also take part in workshops which develop your skills and confidence, have new experiences and find out about opportunities for young people in your area. Come along and get involved!

Friday Night Project, St Albans

Want to learn about music public address (PA) systems, sound engineering or stage lighting? Want to book artists or stage manage? Want to learn about behind the scenes roles? Then come and join the YC Hertfordshire Friday Night Project! You will also have the opportunity to be fully involved in organising music events.

Girls Allowed Young Women's Project

The YC Hertfordshire Girls Allowed Project at Catherine Street Young People's Centre in St Albans is a safe place for girls to meet up and have fun. It's open to all young women aged 13-17 in the St Albans area, every Monday, 6.30-8.30pm.

Happy As I Am LGBTQ Project

The YC Hertfordshire Happy As I Am project is a group for young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or questioning their sexuality. Joining the group will allow you to meet other young LGBTQ people. Together you will plan and work towards positive choices. You'll get to take part in a wide range of activities and discussions about different subjects that you're interested in.

Harpenden Street-Based Youth Project

Are you aged 13-17? Do you and your friends spend time in Harpenden parks and surrounding areas? Look out for the friendly YC Hertfordshire youth workers on Friday evenings from 4pm to 6pm. You can chat to them, get advice and support, and find out what’s happening in your area for young people.

Healthy Relationships Project

Want to be more confident and happier in your relationships? Worried about a relationship going wrong, being or becoming controlling or abusive? Want to find out how and where you can get support? The YC Hertfordshire Healthy Relationships Project at Catherine Street Young People's Centre can help you to make informed, safe choices and to have appropriate, healthy and safe relationships. It is specially designed to enable young people to recognise and develop healthy relationships and keep themselves safe from exploitation.

 

Positive Alternatives Project

This YC Hertfordshire Positive Alternatives Project is for 13-17 year olds in the St Albans District who may be at risk of becoming involved in unlawful or risky behaviour. You can take part in sports and get support to help you take steps to a safer, more positive future.

St Albans and Harpenden Youth Council

The St Albans and Harpenden Youth Council aims to improve the lives of young people in the St Albans District. Do you want to make a difference? Can you rise to the challenge of representing the views of other young people in your area? Do you live in St Albans, Harpenden, Redbourn, London Colney or surrounding areas? Then the St Albans and Harpenden Youth Council is a fantastic opportunity for you to get involved!

Wheathampstead Youth Project

The YC Hertfordshire Wheathampstead Youth Project is open to all 13-17 year olds on Tuesday evenings from 7pm until 9pm. It's free so come along and take part in some of the many different activities going on.
