The YC Hertfordshire Peer Mentoring programme offers young people the opportunity to learn and develop valuable peer mentoring skills while gaining a recognised qualification.
Sessions are led by qualified and experienced youth workers who help the young people develop the skills and confidence to be able to offer peer support to others.
The programme also looks at the responsibilities and implications of being a peer mentor. Young people will develop their communication, presentation and self-evaluation skills. They will also be benefit from being part of a supportive group and will develop their own personal growth and engagement in learning.
The programme runs for 2 hours a week over 20 weeks and is for young people aged 14 to 21, up to 24 for those with any additional support needs.
